BCS Falls Short

As ACA comfortably played the ball from one end of the field to another, all BCS could do was chase.  Unfortunately, on this night, BCS simply could not catch up to the quicker and more fortuitous ACA side.

In the early seconds of the game, ACA capitalized on a clumsy giveaway by Gus Bravo near the BCS goal.  With the early lead, ACA seized the momentum and, minutes later, caught BCS flatfooted once again with a series of quick passes to take a 2-0 lead.  Undaunted, however, BCS would not go away so easily.  BCS regained its composure and possession, and eventually narrowed the deficit in half when Garry Schulthies drilled a low shot that bested the ACA goalie near post.

The second half began with BCS pushing the attack, seeking the tying goal.  After a few squandered opportunities near the ACA goal, BCS again fell victim to the quick striking ACA side, which capitalized on a loose ball near the BCS box to complete the final score, 3-1.  While BCS continued to press, and created a few clear scoring chances, luck and time were not on its side.

ACA deservedly claimed the top prize.  And BCS, considering the rash of injuries it suffered late in the season, made a valiant run at defending its crown.  Now BCS looks to the off-season to heal and perhaps add a little more depth to its roster.
