BCS Sports (and Blog) Return

After inauspiciously opening its 4th campaign with two losses, BCS Sports is back to its winning ways after downing the aptly named Miami Confusion 4-2 last night.

Thanks in large part to the highly improved field conditions, the game started out at much faster pace than previous games.  After the teams traded away scoring opportunities, Piero Zamperin gave BCS Sports a lead it would not relinquish with an angled blast from 10 yards out.  The Confusion, perhaps living up to its name, added to its woes with an own goal, giving BCS a 2-0 lead at the half.

At the start of the 2nd half, BCS continued putting pressure on the Confusion backline, which eventually paid dividends when a Confusion defender again redirected a BCS shot into his own goal.  With a comfortable 3-0 lead, BCS relaxed and began to clumsily give up possession of the ball.  The Confusion took advantage and sneaked a shot past BCS goalie Jorge Delgado.  BCS responded immediately.  This time, Armando Aparicio cleverly redirected a Luis Delgado blast, giving BCS a comfortable 4-1 lead.  A meaningless Confusion goal near the end of the game rounded out the scoring line.

BCS now looks poised to make a run at the top of the leaderboard, particularly with next week’s matchup against 2nd place FC Barcelona.  With the return of the vacationing David Salomon and the addition of newcomers Christian Goffi and Cristian Cubillas, BCS hopes to build on its three game winning streak.
